Day#112

 So my day today has been truly tiring, yesterday I was at my mother's house and I drove to my dad's(that's an hour drive) and then I woke up around 9 this morning to drive back to my mom's so I can spend new year’s eve and new year’s day with her. Not to mention I have to drive back to Baltimore tomorrow because I have to work 2-6, this had to be one of the busiest weeks ever! My sleeping pattern is so messed up; I hope I can get it together before school starts next Tuesday. Other then that I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Years, and be safe!

Day#111

Good morning everyone, this is definitely a good morning for me because I woke up to new that I’ve been accepted into Hampton University! This is exciting as well as rather confusing news to me only because when I went to the college fair in Philadelphia and applied the person presenting Hampton said I needed an application fee. Long story short, I never sent in my application fee, so therefore I just think he was trying to pocket money because I still was accepted into Hampton. This school wasn’t even one of my five choices; it was just somewhere I applied to see if I would get accepted.

Day#110

So today has been a boring day, and it's freezing outside. Going to work is the only thing worth looking forward to, and after that I’m driving down to my mom's house until Friday when I have t come back for another day of work. This break been cool so far I guess, nothing spectacular has really happened just been enjoying time with the family. What I need to do is catch up on my reading on the book "Hamlet" last time I read I had gotten to page 30, and before you knew it I fell asleep, that book is very boring.

Day#109

Even though I had to work today, I just got home matter of fact today was a chills day. I did some shopping in the morning at the outlets, followed by a nice nap and a good dinner as well. I'm also thankful for this break, I get to sleep in tomorrow!

Day#106

Today has been a very busy day; this probably is about the most amount of free time I have encountered today. Driving from Brooklyn, MD to security blvd and back to Owings mills have all happened today, not to mention the day is far from over because I still have some more gifts to drop off. Don't get me wrong having your independence and driving alone is fun because you don’t have to depend on everyone. However, I do get tired of driving some times, every now and them I like to be in the passenger seat. One thing that brightened my day though was getting the chance to see my mom since I’m spending Christmas with my dad this year. My mom and I exchanged gifts and now we are both home safely.

Day#105

So this is my first present I ever wrapped by myself without my parents help. If I could give my own grade of the wrapping I would give myself a Solid C.  The corners are kind of rough, and the wrapping paper isn't the smoothest however, I can say that Jasean did the wrapping by himself and that's all that matters. To me wrapping paper never seemed that important, all people do is rip it off, and throw the paper away, I mean that's what I do.

Day#104

Today in AVID we had a guest speaker and what I took the most from her speech to us is to not over exert yourself with work when your like a couple of months away from entering college. Basically, don't allow yourself to become lethargic, however relax and get your mind ready for what's ahead of you, one thing you don't want to do is stress. so therefore my action to take before i start college during my summer break of finishing high school is to just relax and enjoy my family. A barrier that could cause this action to end wold be... um  I don't even know if there is a barrier, I mean a bad thing that could happen is me becoming lazy. The  benefit of me just relaxing and facing my "barrier" is that i will have a relaxed mind and body, stressing will not be apart of my mindset, great things are surely yet to come.

Day#103

So after another long day working at Marshall’s I have came up with the idea that people come to retail stores to fulfill to motives. The first motive of course would be to shop, and the other one is to terrorize the store and throw everything on the floor. I mean gosh, sometimes I feel like I did something wrong, I mean is it really that hard to put things back where you found it? That’s a question I will probably never find out, in the mean time though I am just going to keep at it, even though I have been working for a couple of weeks, having a job is still technically “new” to me.  Each and everyday I learn something new about the store. My only request for anyone reading this and if you go shopping at Marshall’s while I’m there or not is to, please put things back where they belong or at least pick them up off of the floor, that’s all I ask.

Day#102

This has to be the worst way to start of my week, i mean this is the only homework I completed because I feel horrible tonight. As soon as i arrived home I ate and laid down, my head is killing me and none of my medicine is working smh. Hopefully i can sleep away all this pain away and wake up tomorrow feeling much better. I he fact that i get migraines constantly.

Day#101

 Today was really a long day, but I can’t complain at all. I worked from 11:30 to 4, and after I went shopping with my older cousin. We both had gifts to buy for our family, we also brought things for ourselves, and I mean it's only right. After work I picked him up and we went to Security, brought some items from there, then he drove to Towson (since I was eating), and now we are both home. It's been a while since me and my older cousin spent time together, today was a chills day. I got to buy gifts for my family and hang out, and I still have more then enough money left to spend on myself if I wanted to. 

Day#100

About to get ready to go to my cousin's house for a family get together, seems like it’s going to be a very long day today. At least I get to hang out with my family seeing that I’m going to college soon, this should be an eventful evening.

Day#99

Friday night, just picked up my pay check from work. looks like I am have a fun and eventful weekend. Tonight though I'm going to see my brother's get this W tonight against Parkville at 5. Every one be there! Other than that I will talk to ya'll later.

Day#98

 So other than getting out early, I am really not fond of all of doctor visitors. Even though I only go to the doctor once a year for an annual check up, I still think one day is too much. I don’t know why I dislike the doctors but it has been this way since I was younger, one thing's for sure though is that I hate needles, and obtained two of them in one day. I find this to be very crazy!

Day#97

Today was another long day of school in addition to work at Marshall's. I just arrived home a couple of minutes ago and I am exhausted and hungry, I’m sure glad my step mom got home in time from her hair appointment in order to make dinner (for the past couple of days she has been getting in very late). Therefore, after I am complete this blog I will; eat, shower, pick out clothes and then bed in that order.

Day#96

"You are officially accepted into Clark Atlanta University!" That's what I read after I tore open a package that was sent from this institution. So far I have been accepted into two of the five colleges I have already applied for, hopefully I’m accepted into all of the five colleges. I may also turn in an application into North Carolina Central, it's free and it's no essay recommended, what could go wrong?

Day#95

Today was a chills day, I didn't really have any homework exept my blog and to study(which I do nightly) so today I just been chilling with with my brother Chris. O yeah and I completed my E.P.I homework so that's done, as Well as turned in my E.P.I project that had my grade looking horrible. My grade wil sky rocket now that he took a look at this project, I couldn't accept an E, that's not good at all. So now that my grades are straight I just have to keep it up.

Day#94

After a relaxing weekend with my mom, it is now time to get myself back together for another week of school. I arrived home (my dad’s house) around 5:30 with the worst headache in the world, and all I wanted to do was take some medicine and lay down. However, I forgot that my father washed clothes and it was clothes everywhere all over my bed. I didn’t stress though, I just threw the clothes on the floor and I still took my nap. Now that I’m up and rested my clothes are away and now it’s time to find a subject(s) to study. I am going to be up for an ample amount of time since I took a nap, might as well do something productive.

Day#93

All you could see from me today were my pearly whites, having my own car is the best. The only thing about it is I truly have to budget my money from working because gas is NOT cheap, I also have to keep car clean and etc. Most importantly I have to maintain and keep my studies and grades up, this is really my first sign of responsibility, and I feel I’m up for the challenge.

Day#92

So today had so many downs, I had the worst headache, I almost missed the train to my mom's house, and I need to have a conference with my teacher. Today just seemed like a horrible day in the making however, I hear a knock on the door and I look outside and it's my mom's boyfriend with a car, who's car? My car! I have been asking my parents for a car ever since I obtained my provisional’s, they just told me to be patient and I did. Now I’m blessed with a car, I think matter fact I know I’m way past happy, they going have to make a new word for the way I’m feeling now. The car is a 2009 Impala; I will put pictures up tomorrow when it's light outside.

Day 90

Another rainy and boring day, this is the type of weather that you want to sleep all day, and just relax. However, I won’t be participating in those actions because I have work, piled on work, seems like I never get a break at times. For now I’m just taking one day at a time, it’s the only thing I can do. Everyone said to me “your senior year is the easiest year in school”, to me it seems like one of the most rigorous years, I feel exhausted about every day. I’m not complaining though, every day is a blessing; I’m just going to keep stepping with my best foot forward.

Day#89

Just received my official email from University of Maryland College Park, acknowledging my efforts of fully completing the application, and hopefully can get back in touch with me in 2-3 weeks! I feel accomplished all of my applications are completed just hope I get accepted in to each and every one of them. Otherwise, I’m about to complete this packet for physics before I go to work tonight. Today is going to be a very long day; I just have to make the best of my circumstances though. With proper time management, and staying positive everything will work out for the best.

Day#88

My five college applications are finally completed! The last university I had to apply for was University of Maryland College Park, and that was done well just a couple of minutes ago. Now all I have to do is see if guidance will mail off my official transcript and letter of recommendations tomorrow in school. Now that all of my applications are delivered off it's time to play the waiting game. Hopefully I get accepted into all 5 colleges, well all 4 because I was already accepted into Delaware State University.

Day#87

My Sunday consisted of another long day at work, matter of fact i seen Mrs. Lori today. Other than that after I clocked out and drove straight to my mom's house to see my mother, she just recently had surgery. I also brought her some food. Riding from Owings Mills all the way to Waldorf MD and back took about 3 hours of my day, however it was worth the ride. I haven’t seen my mom in about two weeks, so getting a chance to spend time and eat with her just for about 30-45 minutes was everything. Until her doctor says she can go back to work, she will be home, I know she will be bored so therefore I think seeing her today made her feel very happy, I knew it did for me.

Another boring weekend, I have to find something to do tonight, I will NOT stay in the house. I am going to take the car and go somewhere, mall, movies, something. At least I did something productive today and that was completing my AP Human Geo Project as well as my College Algebra homework. Work, work, work that’s all i have been doing, now it's time to go out and enjoy my weekend. On the other hand, I received my paycheck last night! Working and making your own money is the best feeling in the world at times.

Day#85

So today I received my letter of recommendation from Mr. Carney, well the written part, he just now has to  fill out the recommendation sheet I  had to print from offline. Well at least I’m just down to one last thing before I  send out my last application. I wonder how I am going to show proof that i sent out my Clark Atlanta app, if I already mailed it? To tell you the truth i have no idea, I’m going to find a way though.

Day#84

Another day at New Town, followed by another afternoon at work, responsibility is really kicking in about now. However, nothing is too hard for me to handle, time-management is an aspect that I really have to put in use. Other than that though I really need my recommendation from Mr. Carney, he said he would have it for me today, but he went on a field trip. Tomorrow is definitely my day to receive my letter of recommendation from him. At least I hope so.

Day#83

Chills day I guess, nothing really interesting happened today. Now days I just have been looking for scholarship, and waiting patiently for my acceptance letters to come back to me. The last application I have to send in University of Maryland, College Park, just waiting on my recommendation from Mr. Carney. He said he'll have it by tomorrow, so we will see. Once I get the recommendation I will have all the pieces to a well completed application.

Day#82

I just completed all of my homework, now I’m about to relax until work. Working is definitely not a joke, but I am getting use to it, today Wednesday and Thursday I work 6-10 p.m, these are going to be some long days! Other then that today in avid class we had a discussion on, "do you need to be smart in order to become successful in life?" my opinion is no you don’t have to be smart, in order for you to be successful, you have to have the drive and passion. There are plenty of people that aren’t "Smarting", however they knew how to use their talents, and their drive to push them to where they want to be.

Day#81

So today was a cool day I guess, didn’t really have any work, to complete in class, just when of them days all I had to complete was notes and not to mention I watched a movie in one of my classes. Also. Other then my blog only homework I have that’s due tomorrow or Wednesday is...well none is due, therefore tonight I am going to get an early start on my AP Human Geo Project that’s due Friday. Maybe I can even finish the entire project tonight.

Day#80

So I received a package from Delaware state university (a school I applied to, and my second choice out of five), and in the package it's an acceptance letter! Being excited wasn’t the word for the way I was feeling, my hard work had finally paid off, and a college accepted me. Now i am just waiting on for the rest of my acceptance letters, the school I’m waiting for the most is from North Carolina A&T.

Day#79

Other then relaxing from school on my thanksgiving break all I’ve been doing is work, work, work, and work. I have been working major hours especially since of black Friday and I work in retail. Sometimes I don’t even want to go, however I wanted a job, therefore I am going to deal with it. Not to mention I like the money that’s included, lol.

My final food rag, time has really pasted, I remember my first food rag in the 9th grade now I am in the 12th grade and about to be on the way to an institution of my choice.  Other wise I had a terrific time with my Avid family, everyone brought and shared a different, not to mention the food was delicious! I am going to really miss my AVID 12 family; hopefully after school we can all meet up and have an event similar to this again.

Yesterday’s day was all about relaxation, I had no homework to complete, and my entire test was on that current day. Therefore I caught on some rest, knowing that I had a full day today as well as work later on the afternoon.

So today during class we watched a video about 3 high school students who were seniors and their plans after high school. Each one of the individuals had over a 4.0 and was applying to elite universities including: Brown, Duke, Stanford, Georgetown, and many more. They all seemed like they had a plan that will lead them to a successful college career, and that's what I’m working on now. Of Course as you can see above North Carolina A&T is my #1 choice, that all fine and dandy, however I need money! scholarships need to get filled out; however finding out if I’m accepted will allow scholarship searches to become easier. I guess it's just a waiting game now, application is sent out, just seeing if I will be accepted.

Day#74

After recently receiving mail from Stevenson University, my first thought was to not even open the package because I’m not even interested in the school, however I did anyways. To be truthful I'm glad I opened the mail because they are offering me $5,000 a year, and in state tuition is $23,000. Even though I'm not interested in Stevenson their offering me free money, therefore I think I am going to put them on my college application list.

Day#73

I have no idea what to blog about today, just seemed like a regular day. Only thing that happened today was getting my braces tightened, and that hurts so that is definitely not an event that is worth talking about, and raking the leaves. I’m just thankful to be wake up and see another day because no day is promised.
