Day#54 Random Act of Kindness

Today while in lunch I saw Jason asking everyone money for lunch, but everyone was ignoring him. Me having some extra cash, I just go up to him and offer him a dollar. Not saying I’m rich or anything, but if I see someone in need and I know I could provide assistance, I am going to help. I being in that same situation I would hope others would help me as well.

Day#53

My Sunday consisted of football, and homework, guess I would say my Sunday regular. This weekend went by so fast, now back to waking up for school again. At least this school week is only four days long, as well as spirit week. I really hope my teachers don’t load me with an ample amount of homework; I just want to enjoy my homecoming weekend homework free.

Day # 52

Just turned in my application to work at Marshall's on Liberty road, and was hired on the spot. I am too happy, this is my first job, it is nothing like making YOUR own money. Next step is getting my work permit completed, and bringing it with me on Thursday when I go to the orientation.

Day #51

Obtained my packet and project from AP English 12 on Tuesday and I completed it today! Yes, now having basically a free weekend only thing I need to focus on for Monday is to study for my College Algebra quiz. Other then that I finished all the work due for Monday of next week, and today no homework was giving out for me to complete.

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Day#50

Looking through my binder, I’m glad I completed my E.P.I article on Tuesday, now I have no homework due tomorrow. Therefore I can focus on and complete my project for AP English, as well as my College Algebra Packet.

Day# 49

The book entitled Lord of the Flies is the second book we are reading in AP English. After starting the novel about a week ago, I would have to say its ok so far, I think I just have to get further in the book to really get to the plot and figure out what’s really going on. Otherwise this book doesn’t catch my attention at all.

Day #48

Three more recommendations to add to the two I had already. Now I have five, one for each college. Matter of fact I just looked at my information for college, and two universities I’m applying to do not require recommendations, those two colleges include Morgan State and North Carolina A&T. I just obtained extras because anything can happen. Rather have them and don’t need them, and then need them and don’t have any.

Day# 47

Work, Work, Work! The only thing I have been completing since I took foot in my house this afternoon. My favorite meal (Chicken Alfredo) was the only thing I looked forward to this day, other than sleeping. Dinner was the best part of my day today, now I have to do chores, and then to bed I go.

Day # 46

Multiple packets containing list of scholarships I can complete.  Since I want to go to school out of state I plan on completing a huge amount of scholarships, a free ride to a university of my choice would be the best! Putting in a scholarship a week, starting this week sounds like a plan to me. Free money is out there in the world, I just have to put in the work.

Day# 45

Today was one of the longest days in the world, from going to the mall and movies and not getting in the house until about 12 o’clock next morning, however it was also a productive day. Before all the fun I completed my application for Clark Atlanta with the help of my mother. Next step is mailing them out, which I will do most likely this week, just waiting now to get my dad to go over everything as well.

Friday, October 21, 2011

Day# 44

So today I have been working on college essays all day! After already completing essay for North Carolina A&T weeks ago, today with the help of mom, I finished Clark Atlanta and Morgan's essay. Now the only essays I need to complete are two for the University of Maryland College Park (my reach school). Today has been a very productive day, now I’m glad I have a chance to relax.

By the way I will put pictures up of my essays when I get back to my father’s house, my mom’s printer doesn’t work at the time.

Day# 43

Two counselor recommendations completed, only two more to go. I am on the roll so far with this college process; however it seems like no matter how much I get done, there is so much work left for me complete! Therefore I’m just staying ambitious, and positive, I know I will get through all this work and enrolled in the college of my choice.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Day# 42

The first of many teacher recommendations for me is finally completed. I asked Mr. Hammer to complete this recommendation for Clark Atlanta (which is one of the schools I’m applying to that I’m sure to get enrolled in).  Now I only need three more I think, because North Carolina A&T doesn’t require a recommendation.

Day#41

I have no clue what to blog about, matter of fact I just woke up a couple of minutes ago. Constantly having migraines is the worst, it has been like this since my 1st year in school. The worst thing about today though is that my medicine is taking so long to work. I’m sure I will feel better though, just trying to stay patient. Completing all my homework due Wednesday yesterday was a good call; therefore today I can rest and get myself back to 100%. Being proactive really does benefit.

Monday, October 17, 2011

Day #40

Today was just a regular old school day, I didn’t have any extravagant or life changing moments, just experienced a fine day. While home I completed my note cards for AP Human Geography and an article for E.P.I early, therefore I don’t have any homework to do tomorrow for Wednesday. For the remainder of the night I am going to do my chores followed by studying until I fall asleep.

Sunday, October 16, 2011

Day# 39

In addition to viewing the Martin Luther King Memorial, my mom and I walked past the Pentagon. This structure is nothing new to me, just been a while since I seen it in person. Matter of fact the last time I seen the Pentagon was in the 7th grade, that seem like years ago!

Saturday, October 15, 2011

Day#37

Martin Luther King Jr’s memorial in Washington D.C was a tremendous site to see. It is excellent to see him acknowledged as a vital part of the United States history. The memorial is absolutely huge, and since there were probably hundreds, maybe even thousands of people a side shot was the best I could do. The memorial is a site everyone should see for themselves; viewing the memorial in person will be a lifetime event.

Day#36

It was just yesterday that I started my first year in school in kindergarten, now quickly I’m am going to be on my own in college, followed by becoming an adult in the regular world. Time has really flew by, every time I look at documents that have any relevance to college I just ponder on how much I have grown since I was a adolescent to now almost being an adult. My responsibilities will increase massively, however I’m up for the challenge. The variety of lessons learned from my parents will allow me to prosper and survive independently, but most importantly I want to demonstrate to myself that I can succeed on my own.  I always envisioned how living on my own would be like, my opportunity is soon coming.

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Day#35

Collected my five transcripts today to send out to the five colleges of my choice! I have been on a roll this week concerning getting things done in order to send out my applications before the deadline.  Having a couple weeks left I still have plenty to accomplish, that being to complete my last two applications as well as recommendations. This month I would like to call, “No Days Off”.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Day# 34

Applications for Delaware State, and Clark Atlanta have been accomplished today on my day off. Only things I have to do now are obtain my transcripts and have my recommendations completed by a teacher and counselor(the blank pages you see currently). I will obtain all of my recommendations and transcripts by the end of this week, therefore 2 out of 5 college applications will be completed. My third college application for North Carolina A&T will be completed online at my moms this weekend because I forgot my SAT score papers over her house. Other than that, I would be about 66% done the complete college process, I would only have two more college applications to complete. The last two schools are Morgan State and University of Maryland College Park.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Day #33

What you’re now viewing is an application for Clark Atlanta. I plan on completing an enormous quantity of the application on my day off tomorrow; only thing I would have to obtain for its full completion is my transcript, and a recommendation letter. I basically carved out my whole day tomorrow for this application, therefore all my homework due Thursday was completed tonight. I cannot wait until this college process is over, it’s so stressing, however with hard work and dedication my applications will be sent out and an abundance of money from scholarships will be sent my way. A free education would do my soul very well, my parents would appreciate free money also.

Day #32

A multiple amount of note cards and my AP Human Geography book have been studied all throughout this day. Since I was not present for today’s school day I made it my main goal to fully prepare myself for my first AP Human Geography test tomorrow. I feel comfortable in my studies and today have basically been a review for me, because I have been going over the material every day since the course began. Having high aspirations of doing extremely well my senior year in high school, I would enjoy an A on this test. Matter of fact I have confidence in myself that I will obtain an A on this exam. Not being cocky, just fully believing in myself.

Day #31

After an eventful weekend at my brothers Chris and Anton’s house (left to right), it is now time to go back my own house and get ready for school. I will remember this weekend for years to come.

Friday, October 7, 2011

Day# 30

I am packed and ready to go over my brother Chris house for his birthday weekend. He turned the big 18 today, so I am just going to chill with him and my other family for the weekend. This stay should be very eventful, who knows what we will accomplish while I am there. Well off to my other home, I will be blogging from that house now until the Sunday.

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Day# 29

After a long day at school, I came home, ate then proceeded to play NBA 2K12. I must enjoy this game because this is the first time I touched my Xbox 360 for a couple of months now. 2k12 released in stores this Wednesday, and my father purchased the game yesterday, he even plays Xbox more since we obtained the game.  Well I’m done playing the game for now; next mission on tonight’s agenda is to complete my AP English homework and study for my AP Human Geography test, which is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Day #28

After arriving home and taking my usual after school naps, all I have been doing is studying AP Human Geography. I studied a variety of different materials, whether it was looking over my note cards containing all the vocabulary for this particular section, reviewing notes or just looking over other key information that’s in the text book.  My main goal is to score an A, on my first test which is scheduled on the Tuesday of next week. Knowing I can accomplish this goal is one thing, putting in the effort to study nightly is most important though. It is nothing like having the day before the test just to review, rather than cramming a huge amount of information in your brain the night prior to the exam.

Day #27

After finally completing my College Algebra Honors homework, I feel accomplished! For the first time this year I actually fully understood how to complete an abundance of problems thoroughly without second guessing myself. My confidence in college algebra is at a new level, all I have to do now is study nightly (well take time to do different examples while I’m home), in order to do my finest on our first test coming up in a couple of days. Asking questions in class really does benefit you, took me years to come out of my shell and speak up, however I noticed since last year when I need help, I now seek for help instead of just sitting around trying to figure everything out by my lonesome. Not saying being independent is a bad thing, but it’s nothing wrong with obtaining help if you need it.

Monday, October 3, 2011

Day# 26

Is it just me or did it get extremely cold out of nowhere? Outside weather from the previous weekend until recently has been high 50's, it seems like we skipped fall and went straight to the winter. Luckily looking at the weather channel, the temperature for the rest of the week will be in the high 60's. Other than that it's time to bring out all of the hoody’s and coats, I like to stay warm myself, cold weather is not my forte.

Day #25

My 1st interim my senior year, I think I am doing very well so far. Only exceptions are my two C's; one in Physics and the other in College Algebra Honors. I am passing both of these classes; however C's aren’t what I’m reaching for, I don’t wish for an average grade, all A's and B's are my goal. In order to achieve superior grades in these classes I plan on attending coach classes regularly and study nightly. Coach class and studying should allow me to be able to retain information better as well gain a greater understanding in each subject.
