Day# 72

So today I received my first pay check, yes I said it, my first pay check! I, Jasean Fowlkes worked at my job, and made my own money, my mom and dad had nothing to do with the money I received today. It feels good to show yourself and others that you have a side of independence and that you can make money on your own. I get paid weekly too; yes I’m definitely going to enjoy this job.

Day#71

If anyone ever tells you that Philadelphia produces the best cheese steaks, you should believe them they are definitely right! On the way back to the hotel from the Black College Expo me and my dad made it a mission to stop and pick up a chicken cheese steak for dinner. Other then my delicious dinner, today I also attended he Black College expo, since I missed the one at the university of Maryland. I guess I can say things went well, I obtained a myriad amount of information about a variety of institutions, only thing is every school I wanted to apply to didn’t do admission on sight, everything is online now. I was kind of upset, however since I only have one more application to send out I’m way ahead of the game, I just have to be patient and wait for my acceptant letters. I see this as a minor setback for a major come up.

Day#70

After finally completing 4 out of my 5 applications for college, I feel so much pressure lifted off of my shoulders. So far I applied to; North Carolina A&T, Morgan State, Delaware state and Clark Atlanta. My final application for University of Maryland college park will be sent off before thanksgiving, since there are two essays do for that college I did one, just have to finish the following one. Whew, getting ready for college is hard work, at least when it’s all completed, I will look back and say, "Yes I did it."

Day #69

My Food RAG for my avid 12th grade year is finally complete, well the rough draft is. It’s crazy that I remember the first food rag I completed, the food my writing was about was sweet potatoes pie. It felt just like yesterday I gave my 9th grade presentation, I was so shy lol. Now I’m not the loudest person in the room, however I speak up more, just had to gain more confidence in myself I guess.

Day#68

Received a 95% on a paper I wrote for my engineer and tech class. Why am I happy? For the reason that writing is definitely not my strongest aspect when it comes to school work, however my writing has improved tremendously. I'm still far from reaching my full potential as an excellent writer; I just have to keep prating, which means keep on writing.

Day#67

Today was my third day on the job as an official Marshall’s employee. Working from 12-4 p.m seemed like an eternity. Its all cool though, soon I am going to get myself in a flow and eventually work will become just as regular as school.

Day#66

Just finished completing two packets for AP English 12. Although, I completed my homework I need to stop missing school because then I get stuck with an abundant amount of work.
